On the 8th day of the month of Dhu l-Hijjah, one goes to Mina in a state of Ihram , so that one prays the Duhur prayer (noon prayer) already there. Thus, one spends the night in Mina before going to Arafa after sunrise of the 9th of Dhu l-Hijjah. In Mina, the prayers are prayed at their respective times, but shortened (as in shortening the travel prayer).
